The FIA has introduced more stringent tests since the last race to ensure that clever floor mounting systems are not being used to circumvent regulations limiting bodywork deflection in order to gain an aerodynamic advantage.
And although Ferrari is believed to be among a number of teams that have had to modify their cars, neither driver is concerned that the performance of the F2007 will be compromised.
Asked by ITV Sport’s pit lane reporter Ted Kravitz what effect he expected the new tests to have, Massa replied: “Zero. We’ve seen already that it didn’t change anything in our car.
“We always follow the rules; if the rules change we’re going to change our car as well.
“That was the case here, but it didn’t change anything for us in terms of performance.”
Raikkonen was equally sanguine about the new requirements.
“Our car has been legal all the time,” the Finn told reporters.
“Now they have said [the test] will be different, so it will be different.
“There is no reason to think about that.
“I think the FIA decided to change the rules, but I don’t think it is going to affect us at all.”
Raikkonen won the Melbourne season-opener in dominant fashion and continued to set the pace at last week’s group test at Sepang, the venue for this weekend’s race.
