The X-TYPE Jaguar

The X-TYPE JaguarPowered by a compact 227-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine, the X-TYPE delivers true Jaguar performance. And it´s glued to the road by full-time Traction 4™ All-wheel Drive. Standard power ratio is 40:60 front to rear, resulting in a rear-wheel drive-like feel, but the instant a difference in grip is sensed, power is redistributed for optimum traction.

A smooth 5-speed automatic gearbox with J-gate shift offers low-rev torque, relaxed cruising, and confident power when needed. Independent MacPherson® strut suspension on the front wheels and multilink rear suspension deliver a solid stance. And power-assisted, variable-ratio rack and pinion steering helps improve maneuverability.

The X-TYPE is rigorously fitted for occupant safety. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, assisted by Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Dynamic Stability Control, slow and stabilize the car even in demanding conditions. Driver and front passenger airbags deploy according to crash severity and safety belt use. Side curtain airbags drop from above the four doors to enhance protection for the head, and side airbags deploy from the front seat bolsters for chest protection for outboard occupants. There´s even a knee airbag, designed specifically to help protect the driver´s legs. Feel secure.1
